A message from the Premier A message from the Premier and Minister

Hon. Paul Lennon; Premier

Tasmania is a proud football state. We've produced some of the all-time greats of Aussie Rules - legends like Baldock, Hudson and Stewart.

Now it's time for us to take our passion for the game to the next level. It's time for Tasmania to have its own AFL team.

Joining the big league is a dream that has united Tasmanian footy fans for generations. The Tasmanian Government is serious about making it happen. The AFL has agreed to accept an historic submission for entry of a Tasmanian team.

We need all football fans who believe in a truly national competition to support our bid.

Hon. Paula Wriedt; Minister of Economic Development and Tourism

Please get on board and sign up to back Tasmania. With your support, we can make the AFL listen.

A proud and strong football heritage is one of the things that makes Tasmania great. It'd be sensational for young footballers to grow up with a dream of playing for their very own AFL side and I'm sure, given a chance, Tasmanians would be right behind a local team.
